How to Prescribe Lucitone® Print Digital Dentures

Lucitone® Print Digital Dentures can be prescribed with traditional or digital impressions.

Traditional Impression Technique

  1. Use your preferred initial impression tray to take upper and lower preliminary impressions based off your established office practices.
  2. Confirm impressions have all key anatomical landmarks and pressure spots (ref. Figures 1 & 2). Repeat process if necessary.
  3. Send impressions to Castable Ceramics. We will fabricate custom trays and occlusal rims.

This appointment will occur after you receive the custom trays and occlusal rims from Castable Ceramics. Be sure to complete the follow steps thoroughly to ensure proper digital design.

Recommended Materials:

  • Laboratory Custom Tray
  • Tray Adhesive
  • 3 Impression Materials: Rigid/Heavy Body, Medium Body, and Low Viscosity
  • Please note: Substitution of impression materials may result in inadequate results.
  • Handpiece/Carbide for Relieving Tray
  • Before Appointment: If the patient is a current denture wearer, ask patient not to wear the denture for 48 hours for proper tissue conditioning before final impressions.
  1. Inspect patient’s mouth to ensure it is clean and clear of all materials, particularly denture adhesive.
  2. Apply tray adhesive on the borders of the custom tray and then the heavy body border molding impression material.
  3. Insert tray into mouth and perform border movements. Inspect the tray for exposures and overall quality. Correct pressure spots by relieving the tray material with a carbide bur (if needed).
  4. Reapply tray adhesive to the remaining surfaces of the custom tray. Express medium body impression material up to the borders. Insert tray into mouth. Hold per manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Confirm impressions have all key anatomical landmarks and pressure spots (ref. Figures 1 & 2). If there are any exposures, correct with low viscosity impression only if necessary.
